Church School Classes

Every Sunday, 10:40am to 11:30am

Classes open to members and visitors alike.  Every quarter, a new series of topical studies begins.  Feel free to choose any topic, or try each one.  These are participation and discussion-based sessions for learning, sharing and exploring our faith together.

Study Topics:  (January through March 2008)  NEW - UPDATED

The Book of 1 Chronicles

Facilitator:  Pastor Jack Wolfe

1 Chronicles is probably not a book of the Bible that comes to mind for life changing verses.  Yet it has hidden "family" jewels waiting to be discovered.  Who was in Jesus' family tree?  Are their stories of great faith or failures?....  Begin the story of David's reign as king.....  Use David's lessons to understand the importance of giving your whole heart to God and making Him your focus in life.....  Use the Serendipity Approach to study God's word.  We will also try some of Rick Warren's study methods.

Jews & Christians:  A Journey of Faith

Facilitator:  Mary Duitsman

What do Jews believe?   What do Christians believe?  What caused the parting of the ways?  Should we look for common ground - and if so, where do we start?  This study will explore the common beliefs, traditions and rituals of each faith and attempt to gain better understanding of both.  Each week will include a segment from a DVD documentary.

Treading Water in an Empty Pool

Facilitators:  Vince Rodriguez, Duane & Sherri Siedschlag, Dan Carlson and Bill Embry

Do any of these sound familiar?   I don't seem to have fun anymore....  I'm stuck in a job I can't stand.....  I'm not living the dream I had....  My spouse doesn't look like the person I married.....  I haven't accomplished much worth celebrating....  If so, this is the study for you!!  We'll tackle disappointment and unease by exploring useful spiritual principles from savvy articles, pop culture, and especially - from God's Word.

(This study will have a rotating facilitator and topic schedule - something new each week.)

Mystery Night

EVERY WEDNESDAY - BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 12

What is Mystery Night?  It is an evening of fun for the whole family - centered around a Bible story.  Children of all ages will have the opportunity to not only hear the story, but experience it in new and unexpected ways!  Parents are encouraged to stay and take part in the fun, too.  Assorted activities and snacks help bring the story to life in a way that is exciting, memorable and real!  The mystery begins with a few clues before the story itself is revealed.  Mystery Night is the perfect way for families to live out the FUN side of faith - together!

Monday Morning Prayer Group

Monday mornings at 9:30am

The Monday Morning Prayer Group meets at 9:30am, and is open to all who wish to attend.  The group will pray for our church, church family, community and other needs.

Supper Groups

Hungering for some good fellowship, tasty home cookin’ or to know better the person or persons who sit in the pew beside you?

Groups of six people, chosen from those who have signed up to be part of this fellowship opportunity, come together once a month for supper, snacks or just an evening of fellowship.  One couple, or two singles, of the group act as hosts or hostesses one month and the following month another couple or two singles will have the honor of hosting.  After 3 months, the groups will change in order to meet more people.  If interested, or have questions, see Annabelle Schmidgall or call the church office.

The Quilters

Every Monday night, 6:30pm

Hand-crafted quilts with love and compassion sewn into every stitch.  The quilting group meets weekly to create beautiful heirloom-quality quilts, which are then sold.  The proceeds of the sales go to charitable needs within the community.  There are many hours of work and skill put into each quilt, and each one is thing of beauty.  The ladies who have been doing this for years would love to pass this artistry on to others, so feel free to come out and join them.  No experience needed.
