NURSERY

Staffed and available during Sunday worship and special events as noted

Bring the little ones to the nursery while you participate in worship. Our caring volunteers will take good care of your infant or toddler, leaving you free to worship and pray, or take part in special services. Our nursery is clean, friendly, and kid-approved! Visiting for the first time? Just ask an usher or greeter to take you and your child to the nursery! Nursery care is available for newborns through age 2.

Our children's choirs are the perfect place for children to learn to joyfully worship God through song. The children share their songs with the congregation during special services throughout the year.

CHILDREN'S CHURCH

1st and 3rd Sunday each month

Worship & Bible fun for the little ones! The kids start out in the sanctuary with the whole family, and after the children's message early in the service, they can go to Children's Church for worship and bible learning that is fun, active and just for kids! The children rejoin their parents as the worship service closes, so the whole family is together for the benediction. Jr. High youth help lead Children's Church.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Vacation Bible School in Mackinaw Illinois is a special event for children of all ages! MUMC teams up with our neighbor church, the Mackinaw Christian Church, to put together a program of learning, playing and growing in the Lord for children from Kindergarten age up to 6th grade. Thanks to all who volunteered and helped make VBS 2008 a success!

H20

Diving into Jesus!

What is the “H20” group that meets on Sunday evenings? It is the junior youth group! We all need water, and God is the LIVING water to quench our thirst. Know a 5th-8th grader? Invite them to come drink the water!

GIRLS OF GRACE

Special fellowship for teen girls

High school girls face special challenges, so they deserve some special attention, too. Joined by young adult women, the girls enjoy fellowship, bible study, open discussions and just good quality "girl time"! Girls of Grace meet most Wednesday nights; watch the calendar for events and activities.

Missions & Outreach

Special mission projects throughout the year give students a chance to serve others in Christian love

HOOPS

(Seasonal - not active during summer months) Basketball and fellowship for guys high school age and up.

Lock-ins

What better way to get teens to stay in church than to just lock them in!? Periodic lock-in events give youth the chance to spend time in fellowship, and make a great opportunity to invite new friends.

Service Within the Church

High school students also have the opportunity to serve in other areas of the church, such as ushering, serving meals, helping in the nursery and more. We encourage young people to be active members within the Body of Christ!

Childcare for school-age children

Kids Club has been the after-school program operated by Mackinaw UMC for several years. Beginning in the fall of 2008, Kids Club will also offer care for students BEFORE SCHOOL! Please visit the Kids Club page for all the details, and to find out how you can register your child.
